Answer:

Photosynthesis is a chemical reaction in which carbon dioxide (CO₂)and water (H₂O) are converted into glucose (C₆H₁₂O₆) and oxygen (O₂ ) with the help of chlorophyll and enzyme RuBisCO.

6CO₂ + 6H₂O → C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂

It is classified as an endothermic reaction as it requires the input of energy in the form of solar energy.

In the light reaction of photosynthesis, solar energy is used for the photolysis of water which releases free electrons and oxygen. It leads to the production of ATP and NADPH.

In the dark reaction of photosynthesis, ATP and NADPH are used to fix carbon obtained from carbon dioxide into glucose or sugar with the help of enzyme RuBisCO.

Photosynthesis is an example of a chemical reaction because it is a process in which carbon dioxide and water are combined to form glucose and oxygen. It is an endothermic reaction because it requires solar energy.

Further explanation:

Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants and some organisms convert solar energy into chemical energy. This process takes place in the chloroplast of the cell. Chlorophyll is the green pigment found in the chloroplast that helps in the absorption of sunlight. The plants use this light energy to transformed carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen. This process is known as an endothermic chemical reaction.

The tiny pores present on the surface of green leaves help in the exchange of gaseous such as carbon dioxide enters the plant for the process and oxygen is removed from the plant after the process is completed. These tiny pores are called stomata. Glucose is the end product of photosynthesis which is utilized by the plant as a source of energy. It helps in the growth and development of the plant. The remaining sugar molecules are combined to form a complex substance called carbohydrate.

The complete process occurs in two steps: light-dependent reaction and light-independent reaction. The light-dependent reaction occurs in the thylakoid membrane in the presence of solar energy. The light-independent occurs in the absence of solar light or usually in the dark. It occurs in the stroma of the cell. It is a carbon fixing reaction in which sugar molecule is produced.

Explain how environmental agents such as chemicals and radiation cause cancer.
Paul [167]

Chemical (mutagens) usually either mimic the structure of nucleotides and are inserted in DNA or either cause chemical changes (such as alkylation) in nucleotides hence causing mismatching during replication. Radiation, on the other hand, (due to its high energy) causes double-strand breaks in DNA causing an increased likelihood of mutations during the repair of the DNA by cell mechanisms.
