ASAP PLEASE HURRY Read the excerpt from Chapter 35 of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn then answer the question: Although they
FrozenT [24]

Answer/Explanation

The author, Mark Twain, writes about himself as if he is another character in the story.

In the beginning, it seems as if Huck is talking instead of Mark Twain, because Huck is talking about Twain and the book Tom Sawyer and says that Twain lied and that he will tell a story that is more truthful for understanding characters who are in the book.

Please write at least a paragraph explaining whether or not America today in 2022 qualifies as an oligarchy
BaLLatris [955]
So what is an oligarchy?
an oligarchy is a form of government where the rich do the thinking, the government control - but it isn’t just solely the rich so think of royalty, militia, etc. those fit the theme of someone who is “important”

Now the American government is a democracy - meaning the people vote for whom is in office, because it’s representative of them (the people) however the people we see as senates, presidents, and other forms of being a politician; they are fairly wealthy either from their backgrounds (family wealth) or because they’re a politician (it takes a lot of money to be one)

I think it’s an oligarchy but with extra steps. Like in England you have a monarchy - direct oligarchy while America is an oligarchy with extra steps. So yes and no - by definition of governments no, but by how it actually runs? Yes.

I hope this helps - I know it said ASAP so I might be too late :(

What is one reason that thomas paine brings up the oppsing argument that the colonies have done well under the british rule
Fiesta28 [93]

Answer:

One reason that Thomas Paine brings up the opposing argument that the colonies have done well under British control is option D) To create an opportunity to disprove the argument. In Common Sense (pamphlet), Paine advocates for independence from Britain addressing this words to the common people of the Colonies. By saying that the Colonies have done well he creates the opportunity to say that to believe they will still do well is misleading.

Explanation:

For much of its early history, the British ruled their empire through terror. The colonies were run as a military dictatorship, often under martial law, and the majority of colonial governors were military officers.

The Thirteen Colonies, also known as the Thirteen British Colonies or the Thirteen American Colonies, were a group of colonies of Great Britain on the Atlantic coast of North America founded in the 17th and 18th centuries which declared independence in 1776 and formed the United States of America.
