James K. Polk became the president in 1844 because he promised Americans "All of Oregon or War!" In the early 1840s, part of Oregon still belonged to Great Britain. This was an argument with Great Britain over Oregon territory.

I think it was letter a.  they were outnumbered.  During the First Crusades, a large force of European knights and Byzantine soldiers stormed  Jerusalem after taking many strongholds.  Jerusalem fell to the Crusaders and many Crusaders cities were established.  The succeeding Crusades were not so successful.
