On 8 December 1941 "the Infamy Speech" was given to a U.S. Joint Session of congress via U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt. It took place as immediate post effect of the attack by the Empire of Japan on the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and declaration of war against the U.S. and the British Empire in Japan.

The address by Roosevelt has had an important and lasting impact on American politics.Congress declared war on Japan after 33 minutes Roosevelt's speech and there was only one delegate who voted against the declaration was "Jeannette Rankin". Their basic motto was to communicate Americans about Japan's assault on United States and other locations in Pacific.
