Answer:

19

Step-by-step explanation:

Stem and Leaf Plots

It is a special table where each data value is split into a stem (the first digit or digits) and a leaf (usually the last digit).

So, in the given plot

the first stem 2 has leafs = 6,7,7

So, the numbers will be 26,27,27

So, in this way we can write the stem leaf plot data in normal data form

Now to calculate range

Range = Highest number - lowest number

The first stem 2 and its first leaf 6 . So,number = 26 is the lowest number

The third stem 4 and its last leaf 5 . So, number = 45 is the highest number

Thus Range = 45-26=19

Hence the range of data is 19

After how many months will colony 2 always have more bacteria than colony 1?
MaRussiya [10]

The true statement is that colony 2 will always have more bacteria than colony 1 after 4 months

How to determine the number of months?

The functions are given as:

 • Colony 1: f(x) = x^2
 • Colony 2: g(x) = 2^x

When colony 2 has more bacteria than colony 1, then it means that:

g(x) >f(x)

Substitute the function values

2^x > x^2

From the graph of both functions, we have:

2^x > x^2 at x >4

This means that colony 2 will always have more bacteria than colony 1 after 4 months
