Floyd Dell, was born in Pike County, Missouri, in June 28, 1887, within a poor family. He had to leave school early and work in a factory, he passed away in July 23, 1969.

He was an American socialist author, fascinated by feminism and used journalism in the ways feminist movement could be approched either as a sociological abstraction or as a political revolution to change the world.

Through front-page articles, he provided portraits of american and European leaders of the suffrage movement of the summer of 1912, including ideas on the education of children permeated with the air of a feminine plot and experimental spirit which managed to reach an huge quantity of readers, who found these expermiental thougt provoking articles as a well worth, daring reading  and a public service, making him the champion of the Women´s Movement.
