When constructing a summary, the thing to keep in mind is that you will first begin with the title of the piece followed by the author, then follow that with your idea of what the text’s main idea is--the text's thesis. Next, you will sum up (in your own words) the points that are addressed within the text. The thing to remember when constructing summaries is that you should only retell the facts and be sure to exclude your opinion on what it is you have just read. Thus, there will be no analysis taking place, just a condensed version of what it is you are attempting to summarize.

Answer:

Hi! Unfortunately, your question is incomplete since you didn't attach the paragraph here, and I couldn't find the text you are referring to online, so I won't be able to give you a concrete summary because I don't know the text. What I can do is guide you for you to write the summary of the first paragraph of Better Never to Have met me At All yourself.

Explanation:

First of all, let's remember what a summary is. A summary is a brief, a recap of a story, or an excerpt, or a chapter. What you are asked to do here is to read the first paragraph from Better Never to have met me at all and tell, in your own words, what happens in that excerpt. It is very easy really, you just have to read the first paragraph, understand it, and write what happens there with your own words as if you were telling a friend who doesn't know.

Of course, you have to actually have the text in front of you in order to read it, that's the reason I couldn't do it for you.

Don't worry, you'll do great!

Good luck!

D. Logos and Pathos

Explanation:

Logos is a Greek word which means that, an argument that appeals to a given audience sense of logic or reason in a given discussion. On the other-hand, Pathos evokes pity and sadness over the events in a given discussion.

In the excerpts above, it could be seen that, Carson rely on Pathos when he said that, endless stream of new chemicals are manufactured and pushed to Americans while approximately 500 are only used.

Logos, on the other hand, when his appeal to people to endure due to the fact that, adjustment to these chemicals would take time.
