1. What was the afterlife? how do we know that ancient Egyptians believed in an afterlife? In Egyptian culture, the afterlife is defined as what happens to the mind, body, and soul after death. We know that Egyptians believed in an afterlife through evidence of rituals, texts, social practices, and religion.

2. Where are Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro located? Harappa is located in modern day Punjab, Pakistan. Mohenjo-Daro is located in modern day Sindh, Pakistan.

The cultures of Harappa and Mohenjo-Dara were advanced in their use of social structure, civil engineering, and urban planning to accommodate large societies.

3. Describe THREE ways in which the early river valley civilizations were alike, and three ways in which they were different from one another. The Indus River Valley Civilizations we’re alike in ways such as: using civil engineering for construction of the city, having deliberate layout plans for the city, and large scale agricultural techniques to provide for large society numbers. The societies differed in economic ability (evidence of trade being more visible on Harappa than in Mohenjo-Daro), evidence of illness as a large reason for societal destruction in Harappa, and evidence of metal blending in Mohenjo-Daro.
