Answer: B. A subunit of the state government designed to help the state carry out its functions.

Explanation:

The County government is designed to interact more with the grassroots, finding out their problems, proffering solutions, and assisting the state government.

Its heads are elected and usually form a board, commission or court. The commission is then headed by an Administrator. The laws of the state serve as the regulation guiding the county government. They could preside on judicial matters and even wield executive powers.

Name at least one advantage and one disadvantage of building the Transamazonica Highway in Brazil.
Gre4nikov [31]

The Transamazonica Highway in Brazil is going to be both, useful and destructive, depending on the point of view.

The biggest advantage of this highway is that it will connect the cities, towns, and villages in the Amazon rain forest with the rest of Brazil, as they now are very isolated and it very hard to travel to any place in the country from there.

The biggest disadvantage is that the highway will be cutting right through the rain forest, and for sure, millions of animals will die on the highway by getting hit by the vehicles driving on it, as the rain forest animals are not aware of the dangers of the roads.

Researchers have developed a program that measures how many planet earths are needed to provide the resources humanity is using.
Juli2301 [7.4K]

Researchers have developed a program that measures how many planet earths are needed to provide the resources humanity is using. this ecological yardstick is called ecological footprint

The Global Footprint Network promotes the ecological footprint as a way to assess how much nature is needed to sustain a given number of people or an economy.  Through an ecological accounting system, it monitors this demand. The accounts compare the biologically productive areas used by people for consumption to the biologically productive areas available in a region or around the world (biocapacity, the productive area that can regenerate what people demand from nature).
