Rounded to the nearest tenth, the area of the shaded part is 537.3 in²

We need to get the area of the circle to get the area of a semi-circle.

Area of the circle = π r²

diameter is 37 in. to get the radius, we divide the diameter by 2. 
r = 37/2
r = 18.50

π = 3.14

Area of a circle = 3.14 * 18.50²
A = 3.14 * 342.25
A = 1074.665

To get the area of a semi-circle, we just divide the area of a circle by 2.
A = 1074.665 / 2
A = 537.3325 in²  rounded to the nearest tenth 537.3 in²
