Glance: to take a brief or hurried look (at something or someone).
e.x: "The detective got a quick glance at the suspect."

glanced: -past tense, already done- to take a brief or hurried look (same definition, just used in context differently)
e.g: "Ginny glanced at her watch."

Hope this helps!

Write a compare-and-contrast analysis of how Greg Ridley from "The Treasure of Lemon Brown" changes from the beginning of the st
mel-nik [20]

Answer:

At the beginning of the story, Greg Ridley is in a really bad mood, and is receiving a lecture from his father, as he knows what the end results would be.

At the end of the story, Greg is anticipating a lecture from his dad once again, but this time, he smiles at the thought of it.

This change occurs because Lemon Brown tells Greg about how he lost his own son, and that the lessons and things a father gives a son should be treasured. Greg realizes this is true, and it shows in his character shift at the end of the story.

Read the sentence.
Elena-2011 [213]
The subordinate clause in this sentence is "<span>as do some species of fish, amphibians, mammals, turtles, lizards, snakes, and crocodiles."
A subordinate clause is one which is dependent and cannot exist on its own - it has to be located within a larger, independent sentence to make sense. A is incorrect because that is the independent clause, B is incorrect because that is not the complete subordinate clause, and C is incorrect because there is no verb so it cannot be a clause but rather a phrase.
