In "The Wife of Bath's Tale," which of part of "The Canterbury Tales," by Geoffrey Chaucer, the Knight is ordered to find out what women most desire. That is how he meets the Wife of Bath. She is a well-off woman who has been married before, so she is quite experienced in love and sex matters. She is also wise, talkative and quarrelsome. Her previous marriages have made her able to supply for herself in a time in which women had little autonomy and strength. As a result, she is used to using her body to manipulate her husbands.

As stated by the user above this specific part of the Canterbury Tales allows the reader to follow the King on his outing to discover what the women want most. Here the author shows us the infamous 'Wife of Bath' who is an experienced lady that often uses her body as a mean to manipulate her husbands.

Hope this helps :)

Summary of the story jump away
Papessa [141]

Answer:

The boys are being challenged to jump of a bridge by a high school bully.

Explanation:

I think the theme of this short storiy is sometimes standing up to greater powers may cause punishment but it is still the right thing to do. An example of this is when Mike the bully is counting and instead of jumping on three Fenny jumps on two. Fenny didn't want to conform to Mikes rule so he jumps on his own. It's his life to control and not Mikes. Although Mike gets mad at him and punches Fenny, Fenny knows he did the right thing.

One symbol in this story is the man a girl fishing up stream from the bridge. this symbolizes calmness, of how he is about to do this stunt but is focused on these two fishers. The way he looks in the distance to focus on something so simple as people fishing while he has this mean bully yelling at him, making him jump off a bridge.
