Paraphrase the following lines from Dunbar's "We Wear the Mask":

English
1 answer:
Reptile [31]3 years ago
3 0

Explanation:

"We Wear a Mask" is famous Paul Laurence Dunbar's poem.

It deals with the status of African-American community in the late 1800s. Using "we" in the title of the poem, he gives it a personal note emphasizing that he is tha part of the community too.

Mask suggests hiding their real feelings, just like the mask hides the face. These lines suggest pretending to be happy in order to fit in, because showing real emotions falls on deaf ears and brings about lack of understanding. More precisely, these lines show that this methaphoric mask hides their pain and sadness ("torn and bleeding hearts") and hides the words they would express this with, replacing it with things other want to hear ("myriad subtleties").

I need a summary of why Looney tunes is a favorite childhood cartoon.
igomit [66]

Answer:

Here you go. (I typed this btw, no plagiarism)

Explanation:

Looney tunes was popular in the late 80s and 90s and has since then become a historical and favorite childhood cartoon of many. However, the reason it rose above other cartoons back then was because it included humorous characters like bugs bunny and Daffy duck. The show was played often on T.V, and it's production studio made it stand out through animation quality.  Also, Looney Tunes was mostly physical comedy, providing a easy understanding to a wide number of audience members.

How is reading a social experience? (5 points)
stira [4]
Reading aloud in class takes courage and enough responsibility to take on the job of reading with your peers. You have to build the amount of words you recognize and take part in learning new defenitions and meanings to those words. Reading builds character and vocab in how you identify daily words and how you use them.
