Choose the best Spanish word to complete the sentence.

Yo _______ la televisión la semana pasada.

Answer: Yo miré la televisión la semana pasada.

Translation: I watched television last week.

Explanation: The action of the verb (mirar) ended in the past (la semana pasada), then the verb must be conjugated in the past tense (pretérito), in addition, the subject in this sentence is "Yo", that is first person in the singular, so the verb must be conjugated in this way: Yo miré.

The ones with la are feminine and the ones with el are masculine. When the noun ends in an “a” it’s obviously feminine and when a noun ends in “el” it’s obviously masculine. It’s hard to tell whether it’s masculine or feminine when theres los and las and when it doesn’t end in an “a” or “e”
