During the Industrial Revolution there wasn't just the change in technology, there was also significant changes in art. During the Industrial revolution both Realism and Romanticism began.
Realism was trying to show the world, the reality, as it is. Realism paintings usually depict people and what their everyday life looks like. There are no strong emotions in the paintings and things are made to look plain and simple.
