A sociologist would likely call this phenomenon as
environmental racism. The environmental racism involves of having to point out
injustice with mixed racial context in the environment. It could be seen from
Josh’s actions and behavior as he views the environment differently and that he
wants to move but he couldn't and he probably thinks that he is living in a
place like that solely because he is from a poor part of the town.
You would see:
-The tops of roller coasters in the distance
-People clustered around food carts
-Long lines
-People dining at the food court
-The horses in a Merry-go-round
You would hear:
-Faint screams of delight as people rode roller coasters
-A high buzz of noise from the crowd around you
-The song from a Merry-go-round
-Little kids running to get first in line at a ride
You would smell:
-Sugary funnel cake
-Hot dogs roasting
-The spicy scent of Mexican food
You would taste:
-(Some of the above mentioned foods)
-The salty crust of pretzel
You would feel:
-Impatient after waiting in a line too long
-Excited as you rode in your car there
-Contented as you snacked on various fair foods
-The hard metal of the stair support as you climbed up to a ride.
-A slight vibration as the roller coaster went up the slope
-Sleepy in the car back home
-Hot after standing in line too long
