Answer:  To show colonial support for the document and the willingness to fight for independence.

Explanation:  The Declaration of Independence and the American Revolution generally, contained the ideas of the Enlightenment. According to these ideas, and with the ideas and attitudes of the colonists, the Divine Providence they protect and represent, gives everyone the right to freedom, the right to confession of religion, the right to property, the right to freedom of movement, and not only to the chosen monarch and his loyal subjects. Thus, the colonists make their promise to protect this Providence by mutually protecting and supporting each other in the exercise of these rights, and have shown determination to gain independence from Britain in order to continue to live as free people.

Why was Canada such an appealing place for runaway slaves to got to?
nignag [31]

Hi, I'm pretty sure that is because for many slaves, Canada represented a dream of freedom where slave catchers and lynch mobs couldn’t hurt them. Slaves on the Underground Railroad endured months, and even years, of living like fugitives while bounty hunters and racist government policies were always trying to impede their flight to freedom.

Most slaves started out their journey on the Underground Railroad (which wasn’t an actual railroad but more of a resistance and escape route that was heavily organized by concerned American citizens) by running away from their plantation in the middle of the night. Often the runaway slave was alone, but on many occasions whole families would escape together.

Hope it helps you.
