Most importantly, it introduces equality, that is lack of discrimination, which is always a positive thing. Discrimination can introduce social tensions and violence, and equal treatment is one way of inhibiting it.

Also, it introduces stability, as people can rely on the the fact that they can know how they will be treated and that they will be treated fairly.

How were the Emancipation Proclamation and the Gettysburg Address pivotal points of the civil war?
True [87]
Emancipation Proclamation of January 1, 1863, freed all the slaves in rebellion areas. The acceptance of black men in the navy and Union army are also proclaimed. Emancipation Proclamation also persuaded the abolitionists in the North to Lincoln's side and gave him the advantage he needed against the South. The Gettysburg address is declared more or less that we are a unified nation, and not separated fighting against one another.

What is important about the location George Washington chose for the new
spin [16.1K]

It's A, the location was a compromise between North and South -- hence it's somehow mid position if we take only the original 13 colonies into consideration -- also Maryland and Virginia yielded some territory to build the capital so that it wouldn't be part of any existing state.
