The effect of the fall of the Western Roman Empire on Western Europe was that former Roman lands were divided into several Germanic Kingdoms.

Explanation:

• After the Roman Empire fell, different Germanic tribes invaded and conquered the former Roman lands.
• This later led to many civil wars as each tribe was trying to retain the title of the King.
• These tribes evolved into separate Kingdoms due to their old Germanic Custom. According to that custom, all that a King inherits has to be divided among his sons.
• Thus in the Roman lands, feudalism began to emerge where each son ruled over his own kingdom and people. So all the former Roman lands got divided into different Germanic kingdoms.
