In many effects, the stuff that happened years prior to the Civil War. Attempts to compromise, or find resolve in the conflict between Slave and Free States. Such compromises as the Missouri compromise, and the compromise of 1850. Both in each case, ending in a total wreck and creating vastly more tension then before.
