<u>Most of the office personnel assumed that Devon's home life was as </u><u><em>bland</em></u><u> as his uninteresting manner at work. </u>

Bland is the most accurate option to be the correct answer on this sentence due to its meaning, which is: <em>lacking strong features or characteristics and therefore uninteresting. </em>

As you can see, the following text on the same sentence mentions de word: <em>"uninteresting" </em>, which is basically a synonym of the word <u><em>bland</em></u> .

How might a sixth-grader connect this text to his or her own life? A sixth-grader can appreciate that a pet can be a great comfo
svp [43]

Answer:

Small children often understand nature, animals, and feelings better than an adult who may be used to receiving criticism and back talk. A sixth grader is more sensitive to these words. They can better help each other, rather than seeking an adult for help.

Birches

Based on the system of elimination, I would choose - the first is a fantasy but the second is reality (could really happen).
In the first sentence, the poet wishes that the trees are bent due to a boy playing there and swinging on the branches. But the second sentence shows a possible reality, where the cold weather is the one that destroys the birches.

1-minute speech<br> Can someone help me with this?<br> 130 words <br> Tound 1 minute
Vera_Pavlovna [14]

Answer: I do not believe homework has value.

Explanation:

I do not believe homework has value. Homework promotes negative emotion like stress, lack of self worth, and strain in the home.

Most kids in the United States have homework after school. Every day, children work 6-9 hours at school learning, just to come home and do more work. We all know how much kids need their sleep, so what happens to kids in sports? Or kids who need family time? Or just a break? This causes lots of stress on children.

Another reason I do not believe in homework is because if kids are trying very hard in school, why bother give them more work? I feel it is a bit different if a kid is really struggling in classes, but I feel that a teacher should then take initiative to help the kid rather than pile on more work.

Homework can cause strain in the home. In my personal experiences, my parents get frusterated when I have lots of homework to do because they want to spend time with me. If I skip homework, I’ll get in trouble for getting a poor grade. If I don’t skip homework, my parents will be frustrated that I cannot spend time with them. This can cause lots of strain in the home and add even more stress to the kids environment!

Overall, I believe homework does not do any good for kids. I think it is very harmful and stress inducing.
