A good paragraph may deal with several topics. True or False?
zloy xaker [14]

Answer:

TRUE

Explanation:

A good paragraph may rather contain several topics. However, it should be emphasized that the most important in the formulation of a paragraph is that there is cohesion and coherence. This means that periods (sentences) must be well connected and that there is a logical sense.

Icarus and Daedalus (characters in Greek mythology who invented a way to fly) the Trojan War a symbol of fame and reward, belong
Genrish500 [490]

There are lines here quoted from "The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus" written by Christopher Marlowe. I believe they are to be matched with their correct allusions from the given elements of Greek mythology.

1. Cut is the branch that might have grown full straight, And burned is Apollo's laurel bough, That sometime grew within this learned man.

THIS ALLUDES TO a symbol of fame and reward, belonging to the god of divination. Apollo's laurel bough is used to allude to the crown of laurel that was placed on victorious athletes in ancient Greece.

2. Swoll'n with cunning of a self-conceit, His waxen wings did mount above his reach, And melting heavens conspired his overthrow.

THIS ALLUDES TO Icarus and Daedalus. Icarus was the son of Daedalus, who made him artificial wings (using feathers and wax) and warned him never to fly too close to the sun. He violated the warning of his father, and his wings melted leading to his death. That's what was alluded to by the line above.

3. Her lips suck forth my soul: see, where it flies!-- Come, Helen, come, give me my soul again. Here will I dwell, for heaven is in these lips, And all is dross that is not Helena. I will be Paris, and for love of thee

THIS ALLUDES TO the Trojan war. This is line makes reference to Helen of Troy in Greek mythology. The Trojan war was fought over her.

On Saturday, you spent $12 at the movies. The next day, you spent $7
FinnZ [79.3K]

Answer:

you spend $19 in total

Explanation:

to get the answer you just add $12 + $7 = $19.

I couldn't make a number line but I will just explain how to do it.

 1. draw a number line
 2. write 0 - 20 on it (or honestly whatever numbers you want, depending on how big you want your number line and if you want to include negative numbers on it)
 3. find number 12 and circle it
 4. then count up 7 (so 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 , 19.)
 5. then you can circle 19.
 6. this is optional but you can draw a rounded arrow from 12 to 19 and write +7 on it to explain that you added 7

I hope you get this right, wish you luck! I worked hard on my explanation lol

It is much safer to be feared than loved, when, of the two, either must be dispensed with. . . .
grigory [225]

The correct answer is D. He uses deductive reasoning because he introduces a conclusion and proves it with evidence.

Deductive reasoning starts out with a general statement and examines what makes the statement true. Machiavelli began by stating "it is much safer to be feared than loved..." followed by examples of how Hannibal used fear to become a respected leader.
