Samuel Gompers was an American worker's party pioneer and a key figure in American work history. Gompers established the American Federation of Labor and filled in as the AFL's capable president from 1886 until his demise in 1924. He advanced concordance among the distinctive specialty unions that involved the AFL, limiting jurisdictional fights.
