Answer:

Answered below

Explanation:

The treaty of Tordesillas was signed in Spain in June, 1494. It's purpose was to divide the colonising and trading rights for all newly discovered lands between Portugal and Spain, to the exclusion of other European countries.

The treaty divided newly discovered lands outside the European empire between the Spanish empire and the Portuguese empire along a meridian 370 leagues West of the Cape Verde Islands.

The treaty was observed and respected by both Spain and Portugal but was ignored by other European countries.

In the 20th century, the treaty of Tordesillas was invoked by Argentina as a claim to the Falkland Islands.

What earthquake allowed researchers to develop the elastic rebound theory?
MatroZZZ [7]
The answer is: the 1906 San Francisco earthquake.

From an examination of the displacement of the ground surface which accompanied the 1906 earthquake, Henry Fielding Reid, Professor of Geology at Johns Hopkins University, concluded that the earthquake must have involved an "elastic rebound" of previously stored elastic stress.

The elastic rebound theory is an explanation for how energy is spread during earthquakes. As rocks on opposite sides of a fault are subjected to force and shift, they accumulate energy and slowly deform until their internal strength is exceeded.

( 1 Why does a democratic country need a Constitution?
aksik [14]

Well, one reason a democratic country needs a constitution is because it tells us the fundamental nature of our society.

Fundamental - Forming a necessary base or core; of central importance

A Constitution helps serve as a set of rules and principles that all persons in a country can agree upon as the basis of the way in which they want the country to be governed.

A Constitution is necessary because it is an important law of the land. It determines the relationship of the citizens with the governments. It specifies on how the Government would be elected and who will have the power and the responsibility to take important decisions.

Hope this helps!
