One of the consequences of violating the Sherman Antitrust Act is a fine up to $350,000 and a possible sentence to up to 3 years in prison.

In the case of companies, they can be fined up to $10 million.

<em>The authority to enforce antitrust laws is shared between the (FTC) Federal Trade Commission and the (DOJ) U.S. Department of Justice. The Federal Trade Comission can file antirust lawsuits in either federal court, or in an administrative hearing. Only the Deparment Of Justice can bring charges under the Sherman Act, the main antitrust law.  </em>

The greatest consequence of violating the Sherman Antitrust Act was that the firm or firms in question would face heavy fines from the US government and in some cases workers would be jailed.
