In designing a persuasive speech, is it more effective to employ only one persuasive technique or all three to a general audienc

e? Explain your reasoning.

Answer with Explanation:

I believe employing only one technique is the best way because every technique has its own purpose. For example, if you want to touch the emotions of your audience by persuading them to join a strike or movement for a cause, then you have to connect with them on a personal level. This means you have to use "pathos" or the "emotional appeal." You don't need to do this technique if you are trying to introduce a particular product. For example, you want your audience to buy your medicine, you have to provide relevant evidence to support the credibility of what you are talking about. This is what you call "ethos" or "ethical appeal."

Using all techniques in one would make it confusing for the audience because the speech will sound divided. It would largely depend on the kind of speaker you are and which type of persuasion technique you're good at and the type of audience you have.

dybincka [34]

Answer:

Having money is a great and essential tool to have in the modern world. Spending money can be useful in many ways. For one, it allows you to purchase and enjoy items that you want and that you find useful to yourself as well as treat friends and family to gifts. Spending money also helps you get acquainted with how much you feel comfortable spending and helps you decide how much is too much when it comes to spending. On the other hand, saving money could also be beneficial for a number of reasons. Saving helps you collect money so you can learn how to make more responsible decisions with it. Additionally, saving your money can benefit self control and eliminate impulses to buy things that you won't end up using, Overall, spending and saving money have their pros and cons, and your decision depends on your goals and lifestyle,

What argument does Lincoln make about the Civil War in "The Gettysburg Address"?
Mice21 [21]

Answer:

"The Gettysburg Address" is a speech given by Abraham Lincoln in 1863. which some consider to be the greatest speech ever given by any US President.

Although the largest portion of this short speech is about honoring and remembering soldiers who gave their life on the battlefield, it is important to focus on the first few sentences of the speech.

Lincoln starts by reminding everyone on the Declaration of Independence 87 years ago (four score and seven years ago). That was the document that created and shaped American nation. The most prominent pillar on which the document resides is that "all men are created equal".

Now, Lincoln argues that that belief is put to a test. And that test is Civil War. It is a test that needs to show whether a country so dedicated to freedom and equality can endure and persist.

Basically, he poses a question "How long will a country that rests on the principles of freedom and equality regard slavery as normal thing?". According to him, the answer lies in the outcome of the war.
