#1 Identify the subordinate clause within the sentence below.

English
1 answer:
Ksivusya [100]3 years ago
3 0

The subordinate clause in the following sentence:

Allison and Andy want to travel to India someday <u>once they saved enough money for the trip</u>.

Is: "<u>once they have saved enough money for the trip</u>".

A subordinate clause has a subject and a verb but it cannot stand a;one as a sentence like an independent clause.  A subordinate clause can provide additional information, but it cannot stand alone as a sentence.

konstantin123 [22]
The theme of "The Luster of Lost Things" is seeking out one's inner truth in the urban, alienated world. The hero of the book is a young boy, Walter Lavender, whose speech disorder has rendered him incapable of communicating with other people, and has resulted in many limitations that he imposed upon himself. He sets off to accomplish a mission of finding a lost book from his mother's shop. This journey will set him free and teach him many hidden truths about himself and the world.

Which three phrases correctly complete the sentence? he demonstrated a resolve to survive. he proved his commanding physical str
Sloan [31]

Answer:

The three phrases which complete the sentence (in their right) are:

A, D and C.

  • He demonstrated a resolve to survive.
  • He applied strategy to the need at hand
  • He pushed through difficult circumstances.

Explanation

Every action begins as a thought. So it's reasonable to put 'A' first. Resolutions begin in the mind.

The last sentence 'C' reports some kind of conclusion. "He pushed through difficult circumstances."

'D' tells us how: He pushed through difficult circumstances by "applying strategy to the need at hand"

Cheers!
