Answer:

r=18 or r= -4

Step-by-step explanation:

Please see attached picture for full solution.

Before completing the square, ensure that the coefficient of r^2 is 1 and bring all the terms to the left hand side. In this case, we do not have to do this as it is already done.

Since the sign before '14r' is a negative sign, use the formula as shown in the first picture.

We know that the value of 'b' in the formula is 7 because 2(r)(b)= 14r. Hence,

2b= 14

b= 7

Step 5: remember to add '±' whenever you introduce a square root.

What you can do for the table questions plug in the numbers, for example in number 1 one of the equations is y=4x-6 in the x part you can put -1 so what you do now is y=4(-1)-6 so the answer would be equals -10 so that would equal your you answer. You keep doing it until one answer isn't like the other then you move on to the next equation if it doesn't match. Hope this helps a bit.

PLEASE HELP 50POINTS!!!!!

Can you always use synthetic division for dividing polynomials?
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]

Answer:

In order to divide polynomials using synthetic division, you must be dividing by a linear expression and the leading coefficient (first number) must be a 1. For example, you can use synthetic division to divide by x + 3 or x – 6, but you cannot use synthetic division to divide by x2 + 2 or 3x2 – x + 7.
