Sit on the same bus for as long as I could, and with each ride, get up and choose a new person to sit next to. Talk to them. Ask them questions they wouldn't normally think of.

That, or simply try to visit every single city and town in the entire world. The bus is a good way to start.

the story is set during the great depression. in what ways does the historical event affect tom's life? how does the author use
Naddika [18.5K]

Answer:

Economy goes down, no job. Banks have no profit, no money. No money, no paid bills, and it all goes downward from there. Depends on the story, if he improved from this then he saw that during this great time he needed to change himself, and it motivated him to try harder, if he became sad and didn't improve, what was said up there explains why and how its affected him.

do you interpret the poem's final stanza is an expression of powerlessness, or as a threat? defend your opinion.
sveticcg [70]
I don't believe that he means it as a threat he really does mean it as an idolization of powerlessness due to the fact that throughout the poem he's using language that you could only expect from someone in a hopeless or powerless situation  an de to the fact that the tone is slow and you could say placed in a logical way as to show a sense of powerlessness (hope this helps)
