Answer:

The fossils are defined as the remains of dead plants and organisms that are buried millions of years ago. These fossils are now used widely for various purposes.  

Some of the advantages of using fossil fuels are as follows-

(1) They are comparatively cheaper.

(2) They can produce a significant amount of electricity in just one particular location.

(3) These fuels can be easily transported from one place to another by the use of pipe lines and vehicles.

(4) They are easily available. For example, coal.

Some of the disadvantages of using fossil fuels are as follows-

(1) These fuels are limited in amount.

(2) The use of fossil fuels emits a significant amount of carbon in to the atmosphere, thereby affecting the atmosphere.

(3) Obtaining these fuels from earth's surface and sub-surface region is a very costly process.

(4) Mining of these fossil fuels affects the ecosystem of that area.
