Since there are 6 students with neither brown hair nor blue eyes, the remaining number of students with at least one of the characteristic is 24. The sum of the students with brown hair only, with blue eyes only, and with both should be equal to 24. By letting x be the number of students with both, the equation that would best represent the given is,
                            (15 - x) + x + (17 - x) = 24
The value of x from the equation is 8.

Suppose that 8% of the students in your school are Swedish. If you stop students at random in the hall way and ask whether they'
const2013 [10]
Given that 8% of the students are Swedish, this means that 100 - 8 = 92% are not Swedish.

Let S represent the event that a student is Swedish and N represent the event that a student is not a Swedish.

Then, the probability that a student chosen at random is a Swedish, P(S), = 8% = 0.08
The probability that a student chosen at random is not a Swedish, P(N), = 92% = 0.92

That the first Swedish person found was on the third trial means that the first and second trial produced a non-Swedish.

Therefore, the required probability = 0.92 x 0.92 x 0.08 = 0.068 to three decimal places.

Dovator [93]
Both of these are linear functions:
Distance A is d=2.5h  and is proportional to time because the distance is just 2.5 times however many hours you have traveled.
Distance B is d= 2(h-1) + 4.  This is not proportional to time but it is a linear function.

Joey wants to read 2,000 pages by the end of the summer. He has already read 1,250 pages. The rest of his reading will be spread
Rama09 [41]

Answer:

150 pages

Step-by-step explanation:

want to read 2,000 pages

already read 1,250 pages

Number of pages left to read

= 2000-1250

= 750

Rest of the reading spread over 5 weeks

wants to read same number of pages each week

Number of pages that need to be read each week over 5 weeks

= Number of pages left to read / total number of weeks

=750 / 5

= 150

He will need to read 150 pages a week.
