A souk is a market or market place in the Arab world. It is a tradition that people or buyers in the souk must bargain with the shopkeepers before buying any goods. These kinds of market places are found mostly in the Middle East countries and Africa. It is an open air market mostly. Previously souks were generally opened outside the main city where the travelling caravans stopped to collect their necessary things like food. 24. Palm trees and subtropical plants are commonplace in Land's End, England, whose latitude is the equivalent of Labrador in co
alexgriva [62]

Answer:

B) Regions such as Labrador are actually colder than England because colder Arctic water flows down to eastern North America and warm water from the equator flows to England

Explanation:

Even though Labrador and England are roughly on the same latitude, the climates in these two places are very different. The reason for this is the influence of the ocean currents on the climate. Labrador is influenced by dry and cold ocean currents, bringing in very cold weather conditions and harsh cold winds, thus not providing conditions for the growth of palm trees. On the other side of the Atlantic, England is influenced by warm and wet ocean current, the Gulf Stream. This brings in relatively small fluctuations in the temperature, with both the summer and the winter being mild and without extreme temperatures. Also, it brings in a lot of precipitation, so the palm trees manage to survive with only slight adaptations.

How might global warming impact terrestrial biomes? how might global warming impact terrestrial biomes? increased boreal forest
sleet_krkn [62]
Global warming impacts terrestrial biomes since it brings about decreased precipitation and longer winter seasons. Global warming refers to the increase in temperature of the Earth's atmosphere. This is brought about by release of greenhouse gases (e.g. carbon dioxide, methane) in the air which trap heat in the Earth's atmosphere. As a result, there is increased variability of weather and climate patterns.

Which explains the seasonal variation in the number of hurricanes that form in the Atlantic?
ASHA 777 [7]
B) Hurricanes derive their energy from heat.

A hurricane begins with a pre-existing disturbance, an area of low pressure. Favorable conditions advances to the formation of hurricanes. The first one which greatly contributes to the seasonal variation in the number of hurricanes that form in the Atlantic is an increase in sea surface temperatures. For a tropical depression to mature into a hurricane, it requires heat energy from the ocean surface.
