Assimilation is the process by which a person or people acquire the social and psychological characteristics of a group.
The immigrants and natives in America formed a melting pot, meaning their cultures, beliefs and communities blended together overtime. This assimilation allowed for an Irishman, once discriminated against, to gain the respect and prestige to become President.
We refer to World War one as Total War, because this term describes a war in which countries or nations mobilize and force to the limit all their available resources, be they human, military, industrial, agricultural, natural, technological , scientists, or of any other kind, to totally destroy the ability of another country or nation to engage in a war, and this was what happened in the First World War.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development . expanded funding for public housing and funded city rebuilding efforts.
After World War II, affordable houses in urban areas were difficult to find. Due to the rate of homelessness, president Johnson created this department to provide funding to business that meet a minimum quality standards. This resulted in more affordable housing.
Having a railroad would make transportation of goods much easier. This would also make it safer and more efficient. There were a few risks involved but far less than transporting by conventional means.
