Answer:

Option 3rd is correct

A(-5, -2), B(-3, 3), C(3, 5), D(1, 0) set of vertices forms a parallelogram

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope formula is given by:

\text{slope} = \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Properties of the parallelogram:

  • Opposite sides are equal and parallel.
  • Diagonals are unequal
  • Slope of the opposite sides are equal.
  • Opposite angles are equal.

Consider the set of vertices:

A(-5, -2), B(-3, 3), C(3, 5), D(1, 0)

Apply the slope formula:

AB = \frac{3-(-2)}{-3-(-5)} = \frac{3+2}{-3+5} = \frac{5}{2}

Similarly for BC;

BC = \frac{5-3}{3-(-3)} = \frac{2}{3+3} = \frac{2}{6}=\frac{1}{3}

CD = \frac{0-5}{1-3} = \frac{-5}{-2} = \frac{5}{2}

and

AD= \frac{0-(-2)}{1-(-5)} = \frac{0+2}{6} = \frac{2}{6}=\frac{1}{3}

⇒Slope of AB =Slope of CD and Slope of BC = Slope of AD

By property of parallelogram:

⇒A(-5, -2), B(-3, 3), C(3, 5), D(1, 0) set of vertices forms a parallelogram

John & friends brought 4 bags of popcorn and 3 sodas at the movie for a total of 13.50. At the next movie John & friend
scoray [572]

Answer:

The cost of 5 bags of popcorn and 2 sodas is 14.25 units.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following in the question:

Let x units be the cost of a popcorn bag and y units be cost of soda.

The cost of 4 bags of popcorn and 3 sodas is 13.50.

Thus, we can write the equation:

4x + 3y = 13.50

The cost of 2 bags of popcorn and 5 sodas is 12.00

Thus, we can write the equation:

2x+5y=12

Solving the two equations, we get,

4x + 3y-(4x+10y) = 13.5 - 24\\\Rightarrow -7y  =10.5\\\Rightarrow y = 1.5\\\Rightarrow 2x + 5(1.5) = 12\\\Rightarrow x = 2.25

Thus, the cost of popcorn bag is 2.25 units and the cost of a soda is 1.5 units.

Cost of  5 bags and 2 sodas

==5x+2y\\=5(2.25) + 2(1.5)\\=14.25

Thus, cost of 5 bags of popcorn and 2 sodas is 14.25 units.

Which inequality describes the graph?
irinina [24]

Answer:

y ≥ 3x +4

Step-by-step explanation:

The line is solid, so the inequality will include the "or equal to" case. The shading is above the line, so values of y greater than or equal to those on the line are in the solution set. The only choice with the correct (≥) inequality symbol is ...

y ≥ 3x +4

ok so i did learn this and was really good at it but now that I have to do it I cant.....how do i find the perimiter and area...
musickatia [10]

Hi!

So what you want to do is to find the perimeter add the sides up 4 times or mutiply 3.5 and 4. It's the same thing

Perimeter: 3.5*4= 14

For area multiply 2 sides and only 2 sides which are the length and width

Area: 3.5 * 3.5 = 12.25

Hope this helps!!
