What are the x- and y-coordinates of point C, which partitions the directed line segment from A to B into the ratio 5:8? Round t
Fantom [35]

Answer:

(1.2, –4.7)

Step-by-step explanation:

Since in the question it is mentioned that on the plane of coordinate, a line is made from point A (7,-2) to point B(-8,-9)

Also, the ratio of A to B is 5:8

Based on this, the x and y coordinates at point C is

= [\frac{5\times (-8) + 8\times 7}{5 + 8} , \frac{5\times (-9) + 8\times -2}{5 + 8}]\\\\= [\frac{16}{3}, \frac{-61}{13}]

= (1.2, –4.7)

Hence, the x and y coordinates of point C is (1.2, –4.7)

Therefore the last option is correct

Solve this and get 30 points !!!!!
jasenka [17]

First of all, don't let "b" confuse you. Know that b = 5/6k = -10, so all you really have to solve for this problem is \frac{5}{6}k = -10.

Before anything else, you have to isolate k. Do this my multiplying both sides by the reciprocal of 5/6.

\frac{6}{5} * \frac{5}{6}k = -10 * \frac{6}{5}

The 6/5 and 5/6 cancel each other out, so we are left with k = -10 * \frac{6}{5}

--> k = \frac{-10 * 60}{5}

---> \frac{-60}{5} = -12

So k = -12.

Hope this helped. Good luck.

At a DBE lecture of 100 students there are 29 women and 23 men. Out of these students 4 are teachers and 24 are either men or te
Anika [276]

Answer:

The number of women teachers attending the lecture is 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Let M denotes men , W denotes women and T denotes teachers.

Number of women = n(W)=29

Number of men = n(M)=23

Number of teachers=n(T)=4

We are given that 24 are either men or teachers.

So,n(M∪T)=24

We are supposed to find the number of women teachers attending the lecture.

n(M∪T)=n(M)+n(T)-n(M∩T)

24=23+4-n(M∩T)

n(M∩T)=3

So,No. of teachers those are men is 3

Total number of teachers = 4

So,  the number of women teachers attending the lecture= 4-3 = 1

Hence the number of women teachers attending the lecture is 1
