Recycling can be done through open and closed loop processes. In open loop processes, the original material is not recycled indefinitely and is excluded from the loop and ultimately becomes a waste and degradation.

Where as in the closed loop process, the recycling of the material can be done indefinitely and can be used in the utilization loop which means that there is less of wastage. The closed loop process is more sustainable.
