One problem is the felt caught between the old world and the new world. People tried to assimilate-is the process of becoming part of another culture-. Another problem was the desperate of money... Newcomers took whatever jobs they could find. Immigrants worked for steel mills, meat packing plants, mines, and garment sweatshops. Another problem was nativism, immigrants wanted a anarchist-is a person who opposes all forms of government- another problem was people who couldn't speak the language could not immigrant over.
