Alexander the Great was not "great" by today's society meaning of "great" but by terms of the amount of destruction which he was capable of causing during his attempts to take control of the world. So, in saying so, Alexander the Great, is "great" he destroyed much more than anyone though possible, and yet still failed at controlling everyone and everything which he wished to control.

Jefferson belonged to the Democrat-Republicans who supported lower tariffs

Answer: Option A

Explanation:

Jefferson and Madison supported the strict interpretation of the constitution therefore, option D is not correct. Hamilton favoured the idea of a national bank and Jefferson was against it, thereby, option C is also not correct.

Jefferson and Madison did not support the scheme of implementing tariffs in order to pay the national debt and national bond through the government which would take up from the people. Hamilton favored this idea, and wanted to raise the tariff in order to pay the debt. Therefore, option A is true for Jefferson.

Shkiper50 [21]
He is referencing the issue of slavery and the threat of it being outlawed in the United States. This fear was very real for southerners after President Abraham Lincoln was elected president in the election of 1860. Southerners feared that he would outlaw slavery across the United States.

This issue greatly affected the southern states, causing several of them to secede (leave) the US in order to form their own country. This would be called the Confederate State of America and this faction helps spark the Civil War.
