Question 2 of 9
Jlenok [28]

Answer:

The correct answer is option D.  Light and some other factors are necessary for chlorophyll production

Explanation:

By this experiment, it is clear that light is the major factor that helps in the production of chlorophyll in seedlings or plants. In this study, placing the seeds in the light turns 75 seedlings green which is possible by the production of the green pigment, chlorophyll only. So, it is proved that light is a key factor in the production of chlorophyll.

Besides light, there must be some other factors (mineral nutrition and chemical metabolites) that also play role in the production of chlorophyll or increase or decrease of the chlorophyll production as few seedlings did not turn green in the study.

In three to five sentences, describe the advantages and disadvantages of these maps in modeling mitosis.
Nina [5.8K]

Modelling refers to using a diagrammatic representation to present a particular event or biological activity.

The two maps shown are very good for representing/modelling mitosis.

Advantages

  • They clearly lists the various steps involved in mitosis and as well included the process of cell division starting from the interphase stage (for the second diagram).
  • The M phase was also clearly explained in the first diagram.

Disadvantages

  • The first pictorial diagram had to labelling to depict the name of each particular phase and makes understanding difficult.
  • The second diagram fails to show pictorial representation of what could have exactly happened in each stage in the process of cell division.
