The mood that foreshadowing does help create in "The Monkey's Paw" is one of anxiety. The Monkey’s Paw symbolizes anxiety thru anxiety over “foreign” things. Since the paw is from India, it is foreign, magical, and scary. When this story was written, India was still a British colony and the British brought with them to English the stories of India’s traditions and beliefs, which a lot of people found threatening and strange.

Answer:

A. one of anxiety

Explanation:

In the short story "The Monkey's Paw," the mood that is created is one of anxiety. In this story, we learn that the Monkey's Paw has supernatural powers, and can grant wishes. However, we also learn that these wishes often go wrong. The author foreshadows that this will be the case of the White family, who will regret making their wishes.
