The speaker is writing about an athlete that had passed away at a young age. In this stanza, the speaker is comparing human life to two different flowers. The young athlete is similar to the laurel flower; he blossomed earlier than a rose, but he also died earlier as well.

IRISSAK [1]

Answer:

character versus character

Explanation:

The text presents a character versus character conflict. This is because Sara (who is a character) has to suffer the consequences caused by the egoism of Miss Minchin (who is another character), who treats Sara in a very bad way because the girl has become poor.

The Little Princess tells the story of Sara Crewe, a wealthy girl who loses everything when she experiences a terrible tragedy. Obliged to work as a maid, to go cold and to hunger, she continues to preserve her nobility, and thus maintains her pride and her generosity.

In rain myths, which conclusion about the madagascan people is most justified by "a madagascan myth”
jonny [76]

I believe the conclusion is: the madagascan had cultural values based on family

In rain myths, a madagascan myth often described the dead family member is the God on earth.

The madagascan often rely on the spirit of their dead family to seek guidance on how they do on their current earth and all of the madagascan are obligated to respect their ancestor.

The major event that changed the course of Anglo-Saxon culture, language, and art was the Blank in the year blank
Vikki [24]

Answer:

Norman Conquest in the year 1066

Explanation:

The Norman Conquest of Anglo-Saxon England in the year 1066 was the event which completely changed the course of Anglo-Saxon culture, language and arts. Normans were originally Vikings or Norsemen who had settled in present day northern France (Normandy). After the death of Anglo-Saxon King Edward the Confessor, William the the Conqueror (Duke of Normandy) proclaimed himself the rightful heir of the throne, conquered Anglo-Saxon England and was crowned the King on 25th December 1066.

This conquest had many effects on all aspects of Anglo-Saxon culture, history, language, literature, arts, law, etc. It linked England directly with France and continental Europe which before the conquest was more closely linked with Scandinavia. Anglo-Saxon or Old English as an official language of court, law, literature, was replaced by Anglo-Norman. It was only in 13th century that English (now called Middle English) started to challenge Anglo-Norman. But now it was completely changed from Old English (Anglo-Saxon).
