Read the passage. He went home indignant, choking with rage, with confusion, the more cast cast down since with his Norman craft

ifness he was, perhaps, capable of having done what they accused him or and even of boasting of it as a good trick. Which best describes how the tone of this passage develops the central theme in "The Piece of String"?
The tone of anger helps develop the theme that one should never lie.

The tone of sarcasm supports the theme that beign a jokester can sometimes hurt you.

The tone of frustration helps develop the theme that one who has lied in the past cannot be trusted.

The sad tone supports the theme that being a good friend is always the best choice.

The answer is C. The tone of frustration is manifested in "went home indignant", "choking with anger", "with confusion" and "the more cast cast down", all these feelings, resulting from some something said before, could be a proof of things he's being accused now. His Norman craftiness is working against him, since people seemed to perceive it.

The ability of writers to completely identify with their characters is

The answer is A - negative capability. It is not a satire, because that means it is a mockery or ridicule of some sorts. It is not ambiguity either, because that means it doesn't have an obvious meaning, it isn't clear. "Hypocrisy" basically means pretending that you are something you are not. Thus, this leaves us with the only option - negative capability.
