"But it is not the variety of change which stamps the New Deal as the creator of a new America; its significance lies in the exp

ansion and permanence of its programs. There is another measure of the New Deal’s significance in American social and political history. No Republican administration since then has repudiated the New Deal’s essentials.…The New Deal Revolution has become so much a part of the American Way that no political party that aspires to office even dreams of repudiating it. The conclusion seems inescapable that, traditional as the words may have been in which the New Deal expressed itself, in actuality it was truly a revolution in ideas, institutions and practices, when one compares it with the political and social world that preceded it."

Due to the 1929 crisis that the United States of America faced, the New Deal was created, with the intention of the state intervening in the economy, where it was liberal, that is, the North Americans lived the so-called economic liberalism where the state does not intervene in economic activities. This was the biggest factor in ending liberal capitalism.

The "new deal" was a set of measures created under the government of Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1933-1945), which was inspired by the ideas of the economist John Keynes where he aimed to take economic measures that would guarantee the full employment of workers. Keynes also advocated a redistribution of profits so that the purchasing power of consumers would increase according to the development of the means of production.

The New Deal covered agriculture, industry and the social area. Among the main measures were:

Granting loans to ruined farmers to pay their debts and reorder production;

Production control aiming at maintaining product prices;

Setting prices for basic products, such as coal, oil, cereals, etc.

Carrying out several public works to create new jobs, targeting the millions of unemployed.

Increase in the salary of employees;

Creation of an unemployment wage to alleviate the situation of the unemployed's misery;

8-hour workday;

Legalization of unions;

Eradication of child labor;

Creation of social security;

This program did not completely resolve the economic crisis, but it maintained stability. As of 1935, the country's economy was reestablished, but it was only fully restored with the Second World War.

Was the caste system in India during the postclassical era fundamentally a rigid social system or a flexible one? be able to def
MissTica
the caste system did not seem that strict to the Hindu people. In the beginning, some historians believe that the Indian caste system was not a necessarily a rigid system. Citizens were not born into their caste, but given the honor of being in their caste; they had to accept the position they were in because this determined how they would be reborn into their next life. It makes sense that some people see the caste system as a mistreatment of the lower classes. There is a lot of debate on this topic. There is some evidence that skin color played a large role in the early caste system, but it seems that during the postclassical era, there was some belief that people could move up the caste ladder with things like hard work, adopting new rituals, and relocation.
