Answer:

d. groupthink.

Explanation:

Groupthink is a psychological phenomenon that describes a situation in which the group's tendency or desire to reach consensus or harmonious conclusion makes the group to reach conclusion without proper or thorough critical evaluation of various alternatives.

In other words, it is basically based on the intention of not wanting to upset the group or minimize conflict, but often times, leads to the group not assessing various critical options before reaching a decision.

Hence, in this case, the group member who discusses group deliberations with expert outside, and then inform the other group members is trying to avoid the phenomenon called "Groupthink".

Answer:

The correct option is D, groupthink

Explanation:

Groupthink is a situation where a group decision overrides individual opinions or judgement.Even though there could be someone in a group that has an opposing view but decided to keep mum in order not be seen as the black sheep.

A typical example cited  in the work of Irving L. Janis in his 1972 book "Groupthink", is the Bay of Pigs invasion, where President Kennedy took a decision not fully supported by his cabinet ,but they refused to voice their opinion in order not be perceived as going against the President of the most powerful nation in the world.

The group member in this case, consulted an external party in order to avoid a situation where the group reaches a sub-optimal decision.

Why do civilizations Borrow elements from earlier civilization? Think of two elements of America culture that had been borrowed
Alinara [238K]
I can't really give you two paragraphs but one (and probably the biggest) thing was democracy.  Democracy is the 'everyone gets a fair vote' and the Romans had originally started that system. After the Roman empire fell apart, the system was completely forgotten until the USA became its own country.

Another thing that we took from the Romans is archetecture. (<-- spelled wrong). Before buildings were built with steel, American's had to rely on the Roman columns, domes, and arches.  Arches are great for distributing weight so that the building wouldn't collapse in on itself and so are domes. They spread the weight evenly so that you don't have to use massive pillars to hold the building up. But when steel began to be produced, the Roman architechture became more of a decorative thing because steel is a lot stronger and can support more weight.
