In the monkeys paw which two lines reflect the theme that men must never go against fate

English
1 answer:
WARRIOR [948]3 years ago
5 0

Answer:

1. He wanted to show that fate ruled people's lives, and that those who interfered with it did so to their sorrow. ( This is showing old Fakir's opinion, which parallels with the theme )

2. "I don't know what the first two were, but the third was for demise." ( This proves that old Fakir was right, those who interfered with fate did it with great peril to themselves. The man before the Sargeant-Major wished for death using his last wish. )

What do Duncan’s sons, Malcolm and Donalbain, do after their father’s murder? Why? How are their actions interpreted by others?
kondor19780726 [428]

Answer:

where do they go: They then spread out to different locations. Malcom goes to England and Donalblain goes to Ireland.

why: so the same thing will not happen to them because if they stayed much longer, the murderer would kill them too

how were the actions interpreted by others: They did not leave a great impression on everyone in Scotland because since they left so abruptly they assumed they were the murderers and were fleeing the scene of the crime so they would not go to prison.

Examine lines 16 through 18 and select the answer that describes the poetic technique used there.
MArishka [77]
I am not sure which poem you are referring to here, but one poetical technique is called enjambment. This occurs when a line continues to the next line without a pause. Even if there is a stanza break in between, the lines are meant to be read continuously. For example, consider these lines from a poem by William Wordsworth called Beauteous Evening: "The holy time is quiet as a Nun Breathless with adoration; the broad sun Is sinking down in its tranquility" Here, Wordsworth is not intending that you pause after you read "Nun" or "sun." He wants you to read these lines as a continuous sentence or thought. Hope this helps.
