I believe the answer is: Returning her purse

Tom and lily found the purse in their search for sunshine. After they returned the purse to Ms. Hatching, she offered tom and lily to stay a while in her cottage. After they sleep on the cottage they were overjoyed because the cottage is bathed with sun shine that they've been looking for.
