Which of the following excerpts is an example of iambic pentameter?
noname [10]

The excerpt that is an example of iambic pentameter is C. " I see you shining like a jewel of night"

What is an iambic pentameter?

Iambic pentameter is a rhythmic pattern made up of five iambs, which are two-syllable feet with an unstressed and a stressed syllable in each foot. As a result, this phrase should be read as follows: I see you shining like a diamond of night (the accented syllables are bolded, and slashes divide the iambs).

Traditional English poetry and verse theater often utilize iambic pentameter as their preferred metrical form. The phrase refers to the meter, or rhythm, created by the words in that line; rhythm is measured in units called "feet," which are discrete groupings of syllables.

Iambic pentameter, which Shakespeare is known for using, may be found in various versions in all of his plays. He didn't always write in the well-known rhymed form of iambic pentameter. Shakespeare, for instance, used blank poetry, sometimes known as unrhymed iambic pentameter, for the noble characters in "Macbeth."

For thousands of years, one precious gemstone has been a favorite of church leaders and royalty. The ancient Greeks, Egyptians,
damaskus [11]

Answer: It's the amethyst.

Explanation:

Explicit information refers to clear and concise information. It is not implied such that the recipient would have to figure it out.

In the text above, all the sentences were implicit information except the last one as they alluded to a gemstone without naming the gemstone thereby making their information implied.

The last statement explicitly states that the gem is Amethyst instead of implying it.

The next question refers to the dialogue that follows. The paragraphs have been numbered to help you identify them more easily.
forsale [732]

Answer:

The answer is Paragraph 2

Explanation:

Throughout these paragraphs we witness the dialogue of Logan and Kerry, although it is not possible to draw any conclusions about their relationship, however, in the second paragraph we see that Kerry is dissatisfied, almost angry about her father`s plans for the 4th of July. So we conclude from this paragraph that there are family relations between them.

The cost of children by Ruth Mace, explain four causes advanced by the researchers to explain the decline in the number of child
tia_tia [17]
The article provides three causes of the decline in the number of children being born.

The first cause is the reduction of mortality. If fewer children die at their youngest age, parents naturally don't need to have more babies so that more of them would survive. Also, there isn't an emotional need to "fill the void" after the death of an infant. This is the so-called risk and mortality factor.

The second cause of fertility decline is the so-called economic-and-investment model, which means how wealthy the families are, and how capable they are of distributing resources among their children. For example, owing or not owing farmland was proved to be one of the very important factors in predicting the fertility rates in a society.

The third cause is the cultural transmission, that is, the transmission of the cultural model of small families with fewer children. This transmission happens via education. However, this conclusion is not enough; education is a bridge between the cultural transmission and economic-and-investment model, as it leads to better social and financial status.
