I had to edit down the original answer... I think that more of it could be posted in an additional question, though.  It seems to me that a working definition of propaganda might be in order: "the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person."  Certainly, this definition would apply to Abigail.
