Answer:

People should live as individuals.

Explanation:

In the quote, he states how when a man listens to a different beat from the drum he heads on to that path unlike the others who hear a different beat from him. By doing this he is going off on his own as an individual. Another meaning of this can be to try something new or to be unique and different from the others around you.

Answer:

Step 1: Write a counterclaim. Write a sentence that contradicts the claim.

Step 2: Explain the counterclaim. The more “real” you make the opposing position, the more “right” you will seem when you disprove it.

Step 3: Rebut the counterclaim

Also an Examples of counterclaims include: … After a bank has sued a customer for an unpaid debt, the customer counterclaims (sues back) against the bank for fraud in procuring the debt. The court will sort out the different claims in one lawsuit (unless the claims are severed).

What do Nick and Gatsby discuss before Nick realizes Gatsby's identity as host?
Artemon [7]

Answer:

The war.

Explanation:

F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" revolves around the character of Jay Gatsby and his 'lost American dream'. Though narrated by another character, Nick Carraway, the novel focuses on Gatsby, his life, his desire for Daisy, the theme of status, greed, betrayal, lost love, etc.

In Chapter 3, Nick had gone to Gatsby's party after being invited. Though he knows his neighbor's name is Gatsby and that he would often throw parties, he hadn't actually met the man himself. While there at the party, he was conversing with Jordan at a table where there was a <em>"man of about [his] age"</em>. That man started a conversation with him, asking if he had been <em>"in the Third Division during the war"</em>, to which Nick replied that he <em>"was in the Ninth Machine-Gun Battalion."</em> The man then declared that he <em>"was in the Seventh Infantry until June nineteen-eighteen." </em>Shortly after this encounter, Nick discovered that the man was Gatsby himself after Gatsby remarked, <em>"I'm Gatsby."</em>
