Quanto cuesta esto means how much does this cost.
Or you can for example say; cuanto cuesta esta chaqueta (how much is this jacket)

¿Cuanto cuesta? Is how you ask for the price of an item. You can leave it simple as that, which would work if let's say you were holding a shirt or pointing directly at something. In order to be specific, you could say "Cuanto cuesta esta/esto(Which means "this" in feminine or masculine) and the the noun you're talking about."

"¿Cuánto cuestan los zapatos?" Use cuestan because los zapatos is plural.
How much do the shoes cost?

"¿Cuánto cuesta este mural?"
How much does this mural cost?
